A toy shop stocked 240 toy sets in total. Building sets made up 14 of the stock, while vehicles made up 13. The remaining stock consisted of board games. The shop sold 35 of the board games. How many board games were still in the shop?
Need a hint?
First find what fraction of all the toy sets were board games.
Worked answer
- Fraction that were board games: 1 − 14 − 13 = 512.
- Original number of board games: 240 × 512 = 100.
- Fraction left in the shop: 1 − 35 = 25.
- Number of board games left: 100 × 25 = 40.
