Data Deletion Request

Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data

Important: Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please make sure you have exported any data you wish to keep before proceeding.

What Will Be Deleted

When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed:

Account Information

Name, email address, profile picture, phone number, location, and all profile settings

Learning Data

All quiz results, progress tracking, learning streaks, achievements, and activity history

Knowledge Base

All uploaded documents, study materials, notes, and associated files stored in AWS S3

AI-Generated Data

Text embeddings, vector representations, and all AI-processed data stored in Qdrant Cloud

Generated Questions

All AI-generated questions, quizzes, and custom content created for you

Authentication Data

OAuth tokens, session data, and authentication credentials

What May Be Retained

For legal, security, and operational purposes, we may retain the following for a limited time:

Anonymized Analytics

De-identified, aggregated usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you personally

Legal Records

Information required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, or fraud prevention (90 days maximum)

Backup Systems

Data in backup systems will be deleted within 90 days following regular backup rotation cycles

Transaction Records

Payment and billing records may be retained for tax and accounting purposes as required by law

Deletion Timeline

The data deletion process follows this timeline:

Immediate (Within 24 hours)

Account deactivated, access revoked, and deletion process initiated

Within 7 Days

Personal data removed from active databases, S3 files deleted, vector embeddings removed from Qdrant

Within 30 Days

All data removed from production systems and staging environments

Within 90 Days

Data removed from backup systems following regular rotation cycles

How to Request Deletion

To request account and data deletion:

Email Request

Send an email to hi@knowbotic.app with:

Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
Your registered email address
Account username or profile name
Brief reason for deletion (optional)
Confirmation that you understand this is permanent

Response Time

We will acknowledge your deletion request within 2 business days and provide a confirmation once the deletion is complete.

Before You Delete

Please consider the following before requesting deletion:

Export Your Data

Download your learning progress, quiz results, and uploaded documents before deletion

Cancel Subscriptions

Make sure to cancel any active subscriptions to avoid future charges

Consider Account Deactivation

If you're unsure, you can temporarily deactivate your account instead

No Recovery

Once deleted, your account and data cannot be recovered or restored
