Need a hint?
For (a), find a number both 8 and 6 divide into exactly. For (b), make the denominator 100 first.
Worked answer
- (a) Common denominator of 8 and 6 is 24.
- (a) 78 = 2124 and 16 = 424.
- (a) 2124 - 424 = 1724.
- (b) Change 725 to hundredths: 725 = 28100.
- (b) 28100 = 0.28, so 6725 = 6.28.
