KLMN is a trapezium with KN parallel to LM. P is a point on KN and Q is a point on KL. PQ is joined. Angle KLM = 128° and angle KPQ = 37°. Find angle KQP.

- 52°
- 91°
- 128°
Need a hint?
Find the angle at K first, using the parallel lines and the angle at L. Then use the angle sum of triangle KPQ.
Worked answer
- Angle NKL and angle KLM are co-interior angles between the parallel lines KN and LM.
- So angle NKL = 180° − 128° = 52°.
- In triangle KPQ, angle KQP = 180° − 52° − 37° = 91°.
Answer: 91°

Angle facts (straight line, triangle, quadrilateral)
Pupils often copy the angle at L (128°) straight across, because it sits on the same side line KL. The angle at K must be found using co-interior angles, not copied.
