What the dates mean for Maths
- Maths is one morning. Paper 1 first, 1 hour 10 minutes with no calculator, then a break, then Paper 2, 1 hour 20 minutes with one. Both papers are worth 50 marks. The format in full →
- It comes the day after English. In 2026 English was on the Thursday and Maths on the Friday. The evening between them is not the time for new topics.
- School prelims land in late August. Most schools set their preliminary exams two to four weeks before the oral exams, so the last full practice at home belongs in July and early August.
- Results are ten weeks after the paper. Nothing changes in that time. Everything that can change the score happens before late September.
The year before PSLE 2027, working back from the paper
- Now to December (end of P5). One diagnostic paper. Not to score it, but to find the four or five habits that cost marks: a fraction of the wrong amount, units left in the wrong place, the part the question didn't ask for.
- Term 1 (January to March). Short daily sets on those habits until each is right three times in a row. New P6 topics as school teaches them.
- Term 2 (April to May). Problem sums by topic: fractions, ratio, percentage, rate. These carry most of Paper 2's 40 structured marks.
- June holidays. The first full timed mock, both papers in one sitting. Then the habits it uncovers.
- Term 3 (July to September). A mock every two to three weeks, practice on what each one shows, and the school prelims as one more.
- The last two weeks. Timed Paper 1 practice for speed and checking. No new topics.
Knowbotic runs that plan: 5,448 questions and 10 full mocks in the exam's format, each lost mark traced to its habit. The term-by-term plan in detail →
Questions parents ask
When is PSLE 2027?
SEAB has not published the 2027 timetable yet. In 2026 the oral exams were on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 August, the written papers ran from 24 September to 30 September, and results came out in late November. 2027 will follow the same shape; this page is updated when the dates are confirmed.
Is the PSLE 2027 timetable out?
Not yet. SEAB publishes each year's timetable on its "Important dates for candidates" page. Until then, treat the 2027 column as the usual window, not a date.
How many days is the PSLE?
The written papers take about a week, one subject a day. Before them come two days of oral exams in August and one morning of listening comprehension in September. In 2026 that was two oral days, one listening morning and five written days.
Is PSLE Maths on one day?
Yes. Paper 1 and Paper 2 are both sat that morning: Paper 1 for 1 hour 10 minutes without a calculator, a break, then Paper 2 for 1 hour 20 minutes with one.
Are PSLE marking days school holidays?
Yes. Primary schools close for three marking days in October, after the written papers. Secondary schools stay open.
When are the PSLE 2027 results released?
Late November. In 2026 SEAB set Tuesday 24 or Wednesday 25 November and confirmed the day about a week before. Secondary 1 posting follows in December.
My child is in Primary 5 now. Is it too early to prepare for PSLE 2027?
No. The PSLE tests the P5 and P6 syllabus together, so the habits that cost marks are already showing. A short diagnostic now tells you which ones, and the year's practice goes where the marks are.
A year is enough to fix every habit. Start with the diagnostic.
